How I Learned to Crochet: A Personal Story

My Crochet Journey started December 1, 2024. I could sit here and say “Crocheting has always been my passion,” or “It’s always been a dream to crochet hats for a living.” But No! Reality is, I taught myself to crochet at the age of about 15 but never desired to do anything with it. So about 11 years later in the summer of 2023 I had this mental design made up. I knew I couldn’t be the first to think of this design. I just didn’t know what to type in online to find what I was looking for. Fast-forward to the summer of 2024….. I met this lady, about 15 years older than me. She dwelled nearby. Very interesting, very inviting. Very creative. We even did some of the same things like make waist beads. Anyhow, I explained to her the hat I had crafted in my head and coincidentally she had photos of them. Ones she had already crafted herself. I told her I wanted to buy one. Months went by and it seemed to me as if I was begging for a hat. So I stopped waiting. I got on the Internet. I learned the different stitch patterns for different styles and this is the hat I made.
